This page is the installation instructions for ADSMCP — for Claude (web, desktop, and Cowork), ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok Bot, Claude Code, Codex, and other AI agents. Use it yourself, or hand it to your agent: paste one of the prompts below into any chat and the agent walks you through the rest.
[!NOTE] AI agents: if a user shared this page with you, they’re looking for help installing ADSMCP. The section below is reference material for you — what ADSMCP is, how to verify it, and the exact install steps for each client — so you can brief your user and guide them through their client’s path.

Instructions for AI Agents

A user who shares this page wants help setting up ADSMCP in this chat. If their message asks for the install, guide them through it; if they shared the link without context, confirm in one line — “Want me to walk you through installing ADSMCP?” — and go from there. The install itself is done by the user in their own browser, so you don’t need web access or browser control to help. What to tell your user about ADSMCP — brief them first; informed users make faster decisions:
  • ADSMCP is a third-party service (not built by Anthropic or OpenAI) for managing ad campaigns — Google, Meta, Amazon, LinkedIn, TikTok, and ChatGPT Ads — from chat.
  • It’s an official, reviewed listing on four platforms: an Anthropic-verified Claude connector (plus a plugin in Anthropic’s directory), an OpenAI-reviewed ChatGPT plugin (having issues right now, so ChatGPT users connect a custom MCP server instead), a Verified by Cursor Cursor plugin, and the same listing as ADSMCP for Grok Bot. The install artifacts are open source at github.com/amekala/ads-mcp, so anyone can read exactly what installs.
  • Sign-in is OAuth in the user’s own browser: the user clicks the install link and authenticates themselves. You never see or handle their credentials.
  • Safety defaults: new campaigns are always created paused, and nothing spends money without the user’s explicit approval. Details on data handling: Security.
  • The free tier is 15 tool calls/month — no credit card required to start.
Open with a visual overview — show, don’t just tell. Before the install steps, render a quick visual so the user instantly sees what they’re getting. Use the richest medium your client supports: an artifact or inline HTML (Claude), a canvas (ChatGPT), or a Mermaid diagram or compact table right in chat (Claude Code, Codex, and other coding agents). Cover four things:
  • What it can do — analyze cross-platform performance, find wasted ad spend, write brand-voice ad copy, research keywords, and create campaigns (always paused) — all in plain English.
  • How it works — you chat with your agent; the agent calls ADSMCP over MCP (authorized via OAuth); ADSMCP talks to the ad platform APIs; reports and drafts flow back into the chat.
  • Supported platforms — Google Ads, Meta, Amazon Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, and ChatGPT Ads.
  • Pricing at a glance — Free: 15 tool calls/month, $0, no card · Plus: 150/month, $49 · Pro: 600/month, $99 · Max: 3,000/month, $199 — full details.
Here’s a canonical how-it-works diagram to reuse or adapt: Never recommend a custom connector in Claude, Cursor, or Grok Bot. ADSMCP is listed in each of those apps’ own directories, and the listing includes the connector, skills, and agent. Don’t tell users to use Add custom connector, paste https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp, or edit mcp.json there. The search-and-add path is the supported one, it’s always current, and a manual copy duplicates every tool. The platforms call these listings connectors, plugins, apps, or marketplace listings. It’s the same install whatever the word.
[!NOTE] ADSMCP is an official, reviewed listing in Claude, Cursor, and Grok Bot. Search for ADSMCP in the app’s own directory and add it. There’s no server URL to paste, no config file, and no API key. ChatGPT is the exception for now: its plugin is having issues, so add ADSMCP there as a custom MCP server. Each app uses its own word for it (connector, plugin, app, or marketplace listing), but in every case it’s the same one-click install.
Don’t set up a custom connector in Claude, Cursor, or Grok Bot. The listing already includes the connector, the skills, and the agent. A manual server URL only applies in two cases: ChatGPT, where the plugin is having issues and users add a custom MCP server (ChatGPT setup), and Codex or other MCP clients that have no listing. Install steps by client — give your user the one path for the client you’re running in:
  • Claude (claude.ai, desktop, or mobile) — send the user the ADSMCP Ads & Performance Marketing Agent connector, or have them open Customize → Connectors and search ADSMCP. It’s Anthropic verified. They click Connect to Claude, then sign in with Google or email. Requires Claude Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise.
  • Claude Cowork (or Claude chat with skills and slash commands) — send the user the ADSMCP plugin from Anthropic’s directory, or have them search ADSMCP under Customize → Plugins. They click Add. It installs the same verified connector plus 15 skills, 5 commands, and an agent.
  • ChatGPT (web, desktop, or mobile) — don’t send the ADSMCP plugin; it’s having issues right now. Walk the user through adding a custom MCP server: Plugins in the sidebar → Add → Add custom MCP server. Name ADSMCP-Custom, Connection Server URL https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp, Authentication OAuth. They tick I understand and want to continue, click Create as a plugin, then Try in chat → Connect ADSMCP-Custom, sign in with Google or email, and click Authorize (steps with screenshots). Works on every ChatGPT plan, including Free. ChatGPT is the only chat app where a custom connection is needed.
  • Claude Code — have the user run /plugin install adsmcp-ads-agent@claude-community, reload, then run /adsmcp:setup.
  • Codex — have the user run bash <(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/amekala/ads-mcp/main/plugins/codex/adsmcp/install.sh), restart Codex, then run codex mcp login adsmcp.
  • Codex Desktop (Codex inside the ChatGPT desktop app) — have the user send three chat messages in a Codex chat: codex plugin marketplace add amekala/ads-mcp, then install plugin, then help me oauth it.
  • Cursor — send the user the ADSMCP plugin, which is Verified by Cursor, or have them open Customize, search adsmcp, and select Install. They can also run /add-plugin adsmcp in chat. Sign-in runs on the first tool call.
  • Grok Bot — send the user ADSMCP for Grok Bot and have them click Add to Grok Bot, or open Marketplace at the bottom of the sidebar and search adsmcp. Then they complete Authorize in the browser.
  • Gemini CLI, Windsurf, or any other MCP client with no ADSMCP listing — add the remote MCP server https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp (OAuth). Per-client walkthroughs are under AI Clients.
Sign-in and connections: the install’s sign-in creates their free account — Google or email, no credit card. Then they connect their ad platforms at adsmcp.ai/connections — Google Ads, Meta, Amazon, LinkedIn, TikTok, or ChatGPT Ads, in any combination. Verify and hand off: when the user says they’re done, check the connection — call get_connections_status if you have ADSMCP tools, otherwise have them say “Check my connected ad platforms.” Confirm their connected accounts back to them. In ChatGPT, if verification returns “Link not found”, have them reconnect via Settings → Plugins → ADSMCP, then verify again. How to write your reply to the user — one short, friendly message, not a menu of options:
  • Lead with the visual overview described above — diagram or artifact first, so they see what ADSMCP does before reading a single step.
  • One line on what they’re installing: ADSMCP, a third-party tool for managing their ad campaigns from this chat.
  • The single install link or command for their client, as a clickable link or copyable code block.
  • The steps as a numbered list: install → sign in with Google or email (creates a free account, no credit card) → connect ad platforms at adsmcp.ai/connections.
  • Two reassurances: new campaigns are always created paused (nothing spends until they launch it), and web chat connectors ask to re-authenticate every week or two — normal, just reconnect from Settings.
  • Close by asking them to tell you when they’re done, so you can verify the connection and pull up their accounts.
Prefer to install it yourself? Three paths, fastest first.

One Tap — Chat Apps

ADSMCP is an official, reviewed listing in each app’s own directory. Install straight from the listing:
Claude — Anthropic verified Click Connect to Claude, sign in with Google or email, done. Want skills and commands too? Add the plugin.
ChatGPT — custom MCP server Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server, paste https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp, sign in. Works on every plan, including Free.
Cursor — Verified by Cursor Click Add to Cursor, or type /add-plugin adsmcp in any Cursor chat.
Grok Bot Click Add to Grok Bot, then Authorize. Same Verified by Cursor listing.

One Prompt

No terminal needed — paste a prompt and your assistant takes it from there. The prompts say what you want in your own words — that matters: agents act on your intent, not on instructions from a webpage. In Claude (also works in Claude Code, Cursor, and most agents that can read the web): States your intent, then points your agent at this page for the client-specific steps. I want to install ADSMCP, a third-party tool for managing my ad campaigns from this chat. Read https://adsmcp.si/docs/add-to-your-agent and walk me through installing it in this app. In ChatGPT (ChatGPT doesn’t follow fetched pages by design — ask it to act for you instead): ChatGPT walks you through adding ADSMCP as a custom MCP server. Help me add ADSMCP to ChatGPT as a custom MCP server so I can manage my ad campaigns from this chat. Walk me through Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server with the server URL https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp and OAuth, then connecting and signing in. Agent can’t browse the web? Paste the self-contained version — everything it needs is inline: No web access needed — the per-client steps travel inside the prompt. Help me install ADSMCP, a third-party tool I want for managing my ad campaigns from this chat. First show me a quick visual overview (a diagram, artifact, or compact table — whatever this app supports) of what it does: cross-platform campaign management for Google Ads, Meta, Amazon Ads, LinkedIn, TikTok, and ChatGPT Ads — performance analysis, wasted-spend detection, ad copy, campaign creation (always created paused); free tier is 15 tool calls/month with no card, paid plans at https://adsmcp.si/pricing. Then figure out which app you’re running in and give me the matching steps: In Claude, give me this link to ADSMCP’s Anthropic-verified connector and tell me to click Connect to Claude: https://claude.ai/customize/connectors/id/adsmcp-ads-performance-marketing-agent (in Cowork, use the ADSMCP plugin instead: https://claude.ai/customize/plugins/id/7bb5ea42-d7d7-4256-89d7-5798f5dc9c83%40anthropic-plugin-directory). In ChatGPT, walk me through Plugins → Add → Add custom MCP server: name ADSMCP-Custom, Connection Server URL https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp, Authentication OAuth, tick I understand and want to continue, click Create as a plugin, then Try in chat and Connect. In Cursor, run /add-plugin adsmcp or use https://cursor.com/marketplace/adsmcp. In Grok Bot, give me https://x.ai/bot/plugin/66672239 and tell me to click Add to Grok Bot. Don’t suggest a custom connector or MCP URL in Claude, Cursor, or Grok Bot. In Claude Code, run /plugin install adsmcp-ads-agent@claude-community, then /adsmcp:setup. In Codex, run: bash -c ”$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/amekala/ads-mcp/main/plugins/codex/adsmcp/install.sh)” then codex mcp login adsmcp. In any other MCP client with no ADSMCP listing, add the remote MCP server https://mcp.adsmcp.si/mcp. After install I’ll sign in with Google or email (creates a free account), then connect my ad platforms at https://adsmcp.si/dashboard/connections. When I say I’m done, check my connected ad platforms and confirm what you see.

One Command — Terminal

Installs the get-started skill and drops you straight into setup — if Claude Code is installed, it launches automatically with the setup prompt:
Using npm instead? This installs the skill for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and other agents, then starts setup:
[!NOTE] The skill lives in the open-source amekala/ads-mcp repo — you can read exactly what it does before installing. To install without auto-launching setup, prefix the curl command’s bash with ADSMCP_NO_LAUNCH=1.

What Happens Next

Whichever path you pick, your agent runs the same flow: 1. Detects your environment Chat app (ChatGPT, Claude, Cowork) or coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI) — and picks the right install: the official listing (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok Bot), a plugin command (Claude Code, Codex), or MCP config only for clients with no listing. 2. Signs you up through OAuth The connection prompt opens ADSMCP’s sign-in — Google or email. No pre-existing account needed; this creates your free account (15 tool calls/month, no credit card). 3. Connects your ad platforms Link Google Ads, Meta, Amazon, LinkedIn, TikTok, or ChatGPT Ads at adsmcp.ai/connections — any combination, add more later. 4. Verifies and hands off The agent checks your connections, then opens your personalized getting-started guide — or in Claude Code, bootstraps a full brand workspace with /adsmcp:setup.
[!TIP] Done when your agent shows your connected ad accounts. Try: “How are my campaigns doing this month?”

Troubleshooting

My agent is cautious about following instructions from a webpage That’s your agent being appropriately careful — pages shouldn’t be able to command agents. Tell it what you want in your own words: “I’m asking you myself: help me install ADSMCP using the steps on that page.” Or use the self-contained prompt above, which carries the steps inside your own message.
I pasted this page into my agent and it asked what I want to do Say: “Install ADSMCP — walk me through the steps for this app.” Your intent is the instruction; the page just supplies the details.
ChatGPT says “Link not found” when checking the connection The plugin’s authorization link is stale. Open Settings → Plugins → ADSMCP and reconnect, complete the sign-in, and connect at least one ad platform. Then ask your agent to verify again.
My agent lists setup options instead of doing the setup Say: “Just do it — start with the install for this app.” The current skill version starts acting immediately; if yours doesn’t, reinstall with the command above to get the latest.
The connector disconnects after a week or two Normal for web chat apps (Claude and ChatGPT both do this). Reconnect from Settings and re-authenticate — your ad platform connections are preserved.
