# YouTube ads

> Validate a YouTube video and create a paused YouTube campaign shell and video ad.

YouTube ads run through the Google Ads connection. There is no separate YouTube OAuth step in ADSMCP. See [Google Ads](/ad-platforms/google-ads).

## Order

1. `get_connections_status` and `get_google_ads_accounts`.
2. `validate_youtube_video_asset` checks the video metadata.
3. `validate_google_youtube_demand_gen_draft` checks the campaign draft.
4. `create_google_youtube_campaign` creates a paused campaign shell.
5. `create_google_video_ad` creates a paused video ad on that campaign.
6. `enable_google_campaign` is a separate approval. `verify_google_campaign_is_live` only reports status.

Demand Gen uses the same draft validator and its own paused create, `create_google_demand_gen_campaign`. A Demand Gen campaign is not a YouTube-only shell.
