# Performance Max

> Validate a Performance Max asset group, then create a paused campaign only as a separate step.

Performance Max uses the Google Ads connection. See [Google Ads](/ad-platforms/google-ads).

## Order

1. `get_connections_status` and `get_google_ads_accounts`.
2. `get_google_search_theme_ideas` for seed terms. This read does not create an asset group.
3. `validate_google_pmax_asset_group` checks the final URL, headlines, long headlines, descriptions, marketing images, square images, logos, and business name.
4. The dashboard [PMax validation playbook](/playbooks) stops at that validation.
5. `create_google_pmax_campaign` is the paused create. A direct call on this server returns `created_paused`. Set `execution_mode` to `approval_required` to stage it in [Approvals](/approvals) instead.
6. `create_google_pmax_asset_group` adds one asset group to a campaign that already exists. Required arguments are `account_id`, `campaign_id`, `name`, `final_urls`, and `assets`. Each asset needs `asset_resource_name` and `field_type`. The adapter sets that asset group to `PAUSED`. Stage it with `execution_mode: "approval_required"`, or run it from an approved action. A plain call is not the local campaign-create branch.
7. If brand guidelines are on, attach the logo and business name with `add_google_pmax_campaign_logo` at campaign level. `execution_mode: "approval_required"` stages that call too.
8. `enable_google_campaign` is a separate approved action. The creates above do not turn the campaign on.
